Some citizens gathered around the bouquet to take photos while the staff were making the bouquet.
The "lovestruck man" Mr. Wang spent over 40,000 yuan to create the "most impressive bouquet" in hopes of winning back his girlfriend's heart. An informed person believed that these flowers "would hardly accomplish their mission."
12 boxes of floral foam, 15 square meters of foam material, and 10,022 roses... Yesterday, in front of a bar at Building C of Jindu Garden, a flower shop created what is considered the most impressive "rose bouquet" in the island city. Mr. Wang, who ordered the flowers from Beijing, said he spent 40,000 yuan on this bouquet, only hoping to win back his girlfriend's affection.
The stylist took a "last-minute flight" to arrange the flowers in the island city.
At 10 a.m., our reporter contacted Manager Wu from the flower shop responsible for making the bouquet. She said, "Today, almost all the red roses transported from Yunnan to the island city were reserved by us. We are commissioned by the client to create the most impressive rose bouquet in the island city as a surprise for his girlfriend." She told reporters that since they had never received an order exceeding ten thousand flowers before, they invited the chief stylist from their Shanghai branch to fly overnight to the island city to handle the design. Currently, they have started arranging the flowers in front of the recipient's place at Jindu Garden.
Five hundred liters of water used to preserve the roses.
At 3 p.m. yesterday, when the bouquet was taking shape, our reporter arrived at the scene. It was observed that the first layer of the heart-shaped pattern made up of 800 red roses had been completed, and the second layer consisting of 2,000 pink roses was nearing completion. Chen Xindong, the stylist who rushed from Shanghai, was fine-tuning the angles of some individual bouquets. "These 10,022 fresh flowers need to be inserted one by one. To maintain the overall smoothness of the design, constant adjustments are required," Chen Xindong explained to the reporter.
According to the restaurant owner providing water nearby, in order to keep the flowers hydrated, the staff carried nearly 20 large buckets of water from her store, totaling approximately 500 liters.
The expensive bouquet might end up being wasted.
At 7 p.m., the giant bouquet was finally finished. Although it was already dark, many citizens continued to gather around to take pictures. "I've only seen such bouquets in TV dramas. I didn't expect any man would send so many flowers, it's really romantic," a young woman enviously said.
"Somehow it feels too wasteful? Spending so much money on something valuable would be better. These flowers can last at most a week, and they will eventually end up in the trash. Not worth it," a passing man shook his head and told the reporter.
During our interview, two colleagues of the lady who was supposed to receive the flowers came out. "Again for Xiao Pan? Really..." One woman hesitated to say more. After persistent questioning, she revealed that during Mother's Day, this real estate businessman based in Beijing had previously created a giant bouquet with 9,999 roses in front of a supermarket on Hong Kong East Road. At that time, the recipient, Xiao Pan, refused to accept it and gave it to the supermarket instead. Xiao Pan thought this was "too wasteful" and even got a bit angry. "I think these flowers also find it hard to accomplish their mission," the insider said. She added that Xiao Pan works night shifts and wouldn't arrive at the company until 10 p.m.
Last night, when Xiao Pan came to work and passed by the bouquet, she asked, "Is this for me?" But the staff did not explicitly tell her. When questioned by the reporter, Xiao Pan remained silent and disappeared into the bar where she worked.
