Yesterday, the urban area began to rectify illegal electric vehicles

Yesterday (June 12), the first detachment of the Traffic Police Brigade of the Municipal Public Security Bureau started a special governance on non-motorized vehicles mainly consisting of electric vehicles in the central urban area of Yibin, focusing on rectifying traffic violations.

"Driver, it's very dangerous to carry passengers like this!" "Driver, you should drive on the right side...". On that day, the rectification of electric vehicle traffic violations was launched in the urban area of Yibin. At 5 p.m., at the crossroads where Xianfu Street and Dong Street in the urban area of Yibin meet, there was a peak in the flow of vehicles. In 15 minutes, 10 electric vehicles violating regulations were stopped by the traffic police successively. The main violations were overloading, running red lights, random parking, and lane occupation. The traffic police educated each driver one by one.

In December last year, after the ban on motorcycles in the central urban area of Yibin, the number of electric vehicles has been increasing. According to data, currently, there are at least 12,000 electric vehicles in the urban area of Yibin. Personnel from the First Detachment of the Traffic Police Brigade of the Municipal Public Security Bureau introduced that on average, there are more than 3 traffic accidents caused by electric vehicles every day in the city. Citizens have called for consideration on how to strictly manage electric vehicles after the motorcycle ban to avoid them becoming a new problem affecting urban traffic.

The Traffic Police Brigade of the Municipal Public Security Bureau stated that the rectification of electric vehicle violations will continue, while severely cracking down on the behavior of using electric vehicles as "electric taxis", and strengthening management on the registration and use of electric vehicles.
