In the movie, Richie Jen can't help being taught a lesson by Big S with a rattan stick. But in real life, how would he be disciplined by his wife if he made a mistake? Regarding this, Richie Jen laughed and said, "I think men should always have that demeanor. If my wife hits me, then I'd lose all face." To prevent such incidents, men should learn to bravely apologize and promptly admit their mistakes. So far, there's no sign of a henpecked husband in our family.

Although this is his first time playing an emperor, Richie Jen endured quite a bit in the film. He often got chased around by Big S wielding a rattan stick. In one scene, they start fighting from the front of the store all the way to the back, hitting and scolding simultaneously. After filming, his clothes were all torn. However, Richie Jen thoroughly enjoyed this situation. After shooting this movie, "I've fallen in love with the rattan stick. Maybe next time, there will be candles, whips, and other things," referring to elements of drama or romance.

When asked about this matter, Richie Jen generously expressed that despite the two movies being filmed close together, there was no overlap in the performances of the two characters. He explained, "In the previous 'Tang Bohu Points at Qiu Xiang 2,' my role was more of a cameo, while the focus was actually on this movie, 'Dragon Phoenix Inn.' Therefore, there wouldn't be any overlapping feelings in the performance. Plus, the stark contrast in the characters' appearances would also help me better understand the different personalities."

"Dragon Phoenix Inn" is adapted from the classic story of the traditional drama "You Long Xi Feng," telling the tale of Emperor Zhengde of the Ming Dynasty traveling incognito to Jiangnan, where he meets Miss Li Feng, leading to a romantic encounter.

Regarding her earlier confusion between Richie Jen's roles in "Tang Bohu Points at Qiu Xiang 2" and "Dragon Phoenix Inn," Big S admitted that for a period, she felt somewhat unclear about which character was which. When she asked the director whether Richie Jen was the Four Talents or Bruce Lee, Director Zhong Pengjia humorously replied, "No research, no contemplation, no analysis," to end Big S's questions.

Richie Jen plays a wandering emperor in the movie. Speaking about why he decided to take on a comedy again after many years, he frankly stated that he was moved by the script and the cast. "Our story has historical anecdotes behind it, so many people know this classic love story. Moreover, every character in the movie is very interesting. Most importantly, it's my first time playing an emperor, and I get to act opposite Big S."
