Maybe because of the habit of using desktop PCs, when I leave my computer but don't want to shut it down, I tend to press the power button on the monitor to turn it off. However, laptops like the MacBook Pro can't possibly have a dedicated power button for the display, and even all-in-one machines like the iMac lack a power button for the monitor. As a result, the only way to turn off the display on an Apple computer is to go into the system settings and adjust the sleep time for the display as short as possible in the Energy Saver preferences. Although it only takes a few clicks of the mouse, it still feels troublesome. This article introduces a software solution to this problem.
