Google Releases Official Gtalk Translation Bot

[Mydrivers News] The translation feature launched by Google today is based on real-time language bots in Google Talk. Currently, Google has listed about 30 language bots. As long as users add bots like [email protected] to their contact list, all translation needs can be handled by these bots.

Using the bot for translation is very simple: just type your message in your own language, and the translation bot will automatically translate it for you. However, these bots only support one-way translation. This means that if two users speaking different languages want to have a conversation, they need to add two single-direction translation bots. For example, en2zh and zh2en. Adding [email protected] as a contact allows English to Chinese translation, while adding [email protected] enables Chinese to English translation.

According to user tests, the performance of these translation bots is surprisingly good, sometimes even handling colloquial expressions well. With the development of computer dictionaries in the future, who knows? In a few months, the online friends you chat with might be from the other side of the ocean!

In addition to Chinese-English translation, Google also provides the following language translations: ar2en, bg2en, de2en, de2fr, el2en, en2ar, en2de, en2el, en2es, en2fr, en2it, en2ja, en2ko, en2nl, en2ru, es2en, fi2en, fr2de, fr2en, hi2en, hr2en, it2en, ja2en, ko2en, nl2en, ru2en, uk2en, ur2en.
