Symantec released a new version of Norton Antivirus 2008 today and said that in view of the feature of long free trial period for Chinese antivirus software, Symantec would also consider extending the free trial period of Norton security products in China. Symantec did not announce the specific timetable. The current trial period for the free download version of Norton products is 15 days, while the trial period for products pre-installed on laptops is three months.
