Sina Technology News, early morning of April 26 Beijing time, according to foreign media reports, Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, recently wrote an article stating that Gray Powell, the Apple engineer who lost the prototype of the new iPhone, should not be fired by Apple. However, another Apple engineer was dismissed for showing him an iPad. Wozniak believes that Powell did not violate Apple's regulations. But another Apple engineer was not as lucky.
Wozniak revealed that on the midnight of April 3, the day before the iPad went on sale, an Apple engineer showed him his iPad. Wozniak played with it for two minutes and tested some software. The pictures were then exposed on Twitter. Since there was a black strip above the iPad in the picture, it was a 3G version of the iPad, which was scheduled to be released on April 30.
Wozniak said that Apple told this engineer that he could take the iPad out of the Apple security zone after midnight on April 3, but he was not allowed to show the product to anyone. When Wozniak later discussed the iPad with Apple CEO Steve Jobs, he mentioned what this engineer had done. Jobs then said, "It's no big deal."
However, this engineer was eventually fired. Due to intentionally violating Apple's rules by showing the iPad to Wozniak before the product launch, he lost his job. (Shuyu)
