Which city is the farthest from China on Earth? I have never thought about this question until this trip to the Antarctic, when I discovered that Punta Arenas in Chile is the farthest city from China in the world. Punta Arenas is the southernmost city of Chile and the South American continent, and also the nearest city to the Antarctic. Almost all individuals flying to the Antarctic set off from this city. This city is not large, with a population of less than 100,000. There is only one Chinese restaurant - the Rainbow Restaurant. Due to the malfunction of the Chilean Air Force plane we took to the Antarctic, our group had to wait for three days in this small city. We who were used to eating Chinese food could only come to the Rainbow Restaurant for meals these few days. When we came here for the second time, we unexpectedly discovered that a young Chinese man working in this Chinese restaurant was talking to his family on Heyo and QQ on his laptop. Since he was busy at that moment, we just briefly greeted him. Yesterday (February 21), we received confirmed news that the plane would be ready and would take us away from Punta Arenas to the Antarctic on the 22nd. Therefore, we decided to specially visit this QQ user at the Rainbow Restaurant before leaving Punta Arenas. When I walked into the Rainbow Restaurant with a camera and a video camera at more than ten o'clock in the evening, this QQ user was in front of the computer. After explaining my purpose, he was very happy and immediately introduced a colleague next to him, saying that he was also a QQ user. Originally, this young man was the owner of this restaurant, 27 years old, from Meizhou, Guangdong Province, named Lan Zhipeng, QQ: 814443094, and he had been using QQ for four or five years! The colleague next to him was the chef he employed, born in 1969, named Chen Ajie, from Fujian Province, QQ: 898803530. They were originally in Argentina and came to Punta Arenas not long ago to open this Chinese restaurant. But their families are still in Argentina, so they contact their relatives in Argentina every day through QQ. Ajie also brought his own computer, got on QQ with his wife in Argentina, and introduced her to me. His family was very excited and also very surprised. I let them try video chat, and the result was pretty good. Ajie even specifically asked his wife to video his two 18-year-old boys. I asked them about their opinions and suggestions on QQ. They both liked it very much and used it every day, especially liking the voice call and file transfer functions. Xiao Lan also introduced that there were only five Chinese residents in Punta Arenas, four of them in their Chinese restaurant, two of whom used QQ; there was also a Chinese teacher, who probably used QQ every day too. When I left, it was almost twelve o'clock at night, and they were about to close and rest. Thinking about being able to meet enthusiastic QQ users in the farthest city from China, I was very surprised and also very comforted.
