Deputy Director of the Tourism Bureau of Shaoguan City, Mr. Chen, stated that Shaoguan city, commissioned by the Tourism Bureau of Guangdong Province, will host a high-speed rail tourism forum in May this year to promote further development of the high-speed rail tourism era.

Just before the opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, the China Travel Association of Hong Kong organized a 30-plus member tourism inspection team for a three-day inspection tour of Shaoguan's main tourist attractions. Well-known figure in the tourism industry and Secretary General of the China Travel Association of Hong Kong, Mr. Chen Lizhi, is very optimistic about the tourism market in Shaoguan. He expressed that the China Travel Association of Hong Kong is willing to make efforts to promote cooperation between Hong Kong and Shaoguan and jointly promote the development of the tourism industry in both places.

Shaoguan, an excellent tourist city in China that owns the World Natural Heritage nominee site (to be decided in July this year), Danxia Mountain in Guangdong, has benefited greatly from the opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway in its tourism industry. Since the beginning of this year, travel agencies from the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Hunan, Hubei, and other places have launched projects titled "Riding the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway to Explore the Magical Danxia", which have been highly popular in the market. The number of group tourists has significantly increased. According to statistical data, during this year's Spring Festival alone, Danxia Mountain in Guangdong received 585 tourist groups, a year-on-year increase of 31%, with high-speed rail groups accounting for half of them. In particular, the number of overseas tourists from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan increased by as much as 380% year-on-year. A tourist Mr. Wang from Hong Kong once told reporters: "We not only experienced the fastest train in the world but also saw the poetic and picturesque scenery at Danxia Mountain. This Spring Festival was truly unforgettable!"

An official from the Market Promotion Department of the Wuhan Tourism Bureau informed reporters that the "Romantic Cherry Blossom Festival in Wuhan" product launched by the Wuhan tourism industry in March has continued to gain popularity. On average, every weekend, there are over 300 high-speed rail tourist groups from Guangdong and Hong Kong-Macau regions. During this year's Spring Festival, on average, more than 10,000 tourists from Guangdong took the high-speed rail to Wuhan daily, climbing the first building in the world's rivers and mountains - Yellow Crane Tower; touring the largest urban lake in China - East Lake, fully experiencing the charm of Chu land.

The opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway has boosted tourism, making it more enjoyable for people from Hong Kong and Guangdong to travel.

On the 31st, a large, heavyweight delegation organized by the Wuhan Tourism Bureau arrived at Shaoguan, a key town in northern Guangdong, to promote Wuhan's tourism products as a nine-province hub. The enthusiastic "seven-star platform, nine-headed birds" flew to Guangdong to invite locals to visit. Their slogan was: "Experiencing world-class speed, reserving hotels, scenic spots, and concerts through the 24/7 free hotline 4007840076, feeling the Chu style and Han charm."

This official also said that this time, the Wuhan tourism industry brought specially designed high-speed rail tourism products to Guangdong, having already promoted them in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Foshan, and other places, receiving enthusiastic responses. In Guangzhou, they signed contracts on the spot for over 40 high-speed rail tourism groups to travel to Wuhan in the near future. For this reason, the Wuhan Tourism Bureau also advocated for the establishment of a "High-Speed Rail Tourism Alliance," receiving strong support from all parties.

With the opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, the surface transportation between Wuhan and Guangzhou, two major cities separated by thousands of miles yet with deep historical ties, has been shortened from over 10 hours to less than 4 hours, greatly facilitating exchanges between the two places, along the line towns and villages, and Hong Kong and Macao tourists. The opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway has boosted the tourism industry in central and southern China and the Hong Kong-Macao region, making travel more enjoyable for people from Hong Kong and Guangdong.
