Before patiently waiting and seizing the opportunity to arrest, the investigation team of the 7th Detachment of Guangdong Border Defense received reports from the public that someone was conducting drug transactions in room 623 of a hotel in Bao'an District. After receiving the report, the 7th Detachment quickly organized more than 10 officers for the arrest operation. When they arrived below a hotel in Bao'an District, the investigators found that the suspects were conducting transactions in room 623 of the hotel. Deputy Brigade Commander Hou of the 7th Detachment analyzed that since the floor was relatively high and the suspects might be carrying weapons, it would not be convenient to forcibly break the door, so they could only wait for the right moment. The border defense officers split into four groups; one group disguised as guests went to ambush on the sixth floor, while the other three groups waited at the three intersections below the hotel. By 8 o'clock, the suspects had not left the room and did not give the border defense officers any chance to rush into the room. At this point, Deputy Brigade Commander Hou, who was waiting below, thought that if the suspects suddenly came down and drove away, they might be hard to control. He asked the nearby investigators whether there was anyone in the suspects' car. The investigators replied that at around 5:30 pm, a few people got out of the car and no one had gone back in, so there might be no one in the car. And if there was someone, it would be impossible for them to stay in the car for hours without coming out. Experience told Deputy Brigade Commander Hou that he couldn't just rely on words, he had to investigate clearly. In order to confirm, Deputy Brigade Commander Hou walked past the suspects' car alone to observe. Upon returning, he informed the officers waiting in ambush that there was always someone in the car looking around vigilantly, and the car engine was running all the time. Deputy Brigade Commander Hou directed one vehicle to wait two hundred meters ahead of the suspects' vehicle, and another vehicle to guard behind, ready to intercept at any time.
Previously, the 7th Detachment of Guangdong Border Defense caught 8 drug users and dealers in a hotel on Shangchuan Road in Bao'an District. 148 suspects were sent to the city detention center for further investigation.
