OpenSolaris, which is claimed as the easiest UNIX system to deploy and use, and also known as a Linux competitor, has finally released a preview version today in the form of download and mailed CDs. This version is a LiveCD featuring the major selling point of OpenSolaris through the GNOME interface: the "Slim Install" function. Unlike all other UNIX systems, it allows for easy installation with just a few clicks. The desktop includes suites such as FireFox and Thunderbird, along with some essential system tools.
