The Air Jordan 5 was released in 1990 and once again designed by Mr. Hatfield. Of course, Hatfield still came up with an original design for the new Air Jordans. Some elements were the same as from the Air Jordan 4, but the Air Jordan 5's most distinctive feature is arguably its reflective tongue. Additionally, there were lace locks on the Air Jordan 5s which made it easy to strap them on. The soles gave the Air Jordan 5 a whole new and unique look. The Air Jordan 5 is considered to have the best structure and design for wearing when playing basketball. The Air Jordan Retro 5 was re-released in 2000 and several re-retro Air Jordan 5s were released in 2006.
