Last August, a businessman from Zhejiang approached the Haitiong Town government. He was interested in building a film base on Dajian Island within Haitong's jurisdiction due to its strategic location and environment. However, since he had no prior knowledge of Haitong, how could he invest blindly? "Let me see a promotional video first," the Zhejiang businessman requested. The town did not have such a video nor had they ever considered showcasing the roads and bridges that villagers use daily through artistic means. People then thought of Dong Lingling, a highly educated graduate in Radio and Television News who also happened to be a boxing enthusiast.

Dong Lingling got busy immediately - drafting the promotional script, deciding on the content and genre, rewriting the storyboard, and adding narration... She and a group from the town carried a rudimentary Sony camcorder, enduring the scorching summer sun for three or four days to complete the filming for the promotional video. Although the project to build the film base ultimately did not materialize, "I used this video for over a year; all project negotiations in the town showed this very video," Dong Lingling said with a sense of accomplishment.

In June this year, the town spent money to hire professionals to produce a more polished promotional video, "It even has aerial shots!" Although her own work became "redundant," Dong Lingling was quite pleased, as the people of her hometown finally understood how to use promotional videos and technical means to seize fleeting business opportunities.
