News.com reports that both Firefox 2.0 and Internet Explorer have been found to have serious security issues. These days, it seems that going online isn't very safe. Even the supposedly secure Firefox has been found by hackers to have vulnerabilities as its user base grows larger. This time, the vulnerability happens to be one shared by both Firefox 2.0 and IE. The article claims that when a user's computer has both Internet Explorer and Firefox version 2.0 or higher installed, there is an extremely serious security risk. The problem arises when using IE to access certain "problematic" sites; IE registers a "firefoxurl://" URI handler, which allows interaction between the browser and resources on the internet. As a result, users may find that their systems have been remotely compromised.
