International reports according to Symantec, malware targeting OpenOffice.org documents is spreading across multiple operating systems.

In a report, the Symantec Response Center stated that a new worm is spreading through malicious OpenOffice documents, capable of infecting Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X systems. Users should exercise caution when handling OpenOffice documents from unknown sources.

Sophos co-founder Jan Hruska said that Apple's Mac OS is not immune to viral infections. He stated that viruses have already appeared on the Mac platform and are spreading; Macs are not as immune to viruses as some people imagine.
