Xinhua News Agency, Tianjin, June 9th (reported by Zhang Jianxin) - Recently, various cybersecurity forums have been flooded with urgent posts about "image hijacking" and the "random 8-digit number virus." A large number of users are inexplicably encountering virus attacks, where antivirus software and related security tools on their computers cannot function properly, and even safe mode has been compromised.
Dai Guangjian, an anti-virus expert at Kingsoft Antivirus, stated that what users mentioned in the forums as "image hijacking" and the "random 8-digit number virus" is actually a computer virus called "AV Terminator." This virus uses image hijacking technology to "kidnap" numerous antivirus programs, preventing them from functioning normally. When users click on relevant security software, they are actually running the virus file, thereby achieving the virus's plan of "hijacking first, then switching."
