Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1, codenamed "Fiji") will be released at the end of 2007 along with Windows Longhorn Server, and there will also be a new version of Windows Media Center. Regardless of its name, it will be an important update: it will include the new version of the Windows kernel (V6.1). Microsoft will release Windows Vista SP1 and Longhorn Server simultaneously in the third quarter of 2007, and Vista SP1 will have significant upgrades to its kernel – this will help Vista SP1 achieve the same level of performance and efficiency as the Longhorn Server kernel. When Intel CEO Paul Otellini was asked if Vista would affect Intel's sales in 2007, he responded by saying: "Most companies, like Intel, are currently trying to adopt Vista. However, large-scale deployment of Vista in enterprises will begin when SP1 is released, which, according to the schedule, should be in the fourth quarter, possibly between October and November."
