With the popularity of large capacity hard drives, people are used to copying CDs into CD image files for use. The internationally renowned ISO 9660 standard format is commonly adopted, hence the name of the CD image file is simply called the ISO file. Since the ISO file retains all data information on the CD (including the CD boot information), you can easily use common CD burning software (such as Nero Burning-ROM) to burn it onto a CD via CD-R/RW, or directly use it through virtual CD drive software (such as Daemon-Tools).
