Microsoft Office Assistant bows out at the age of ten: 1997 - 2007

Folks, we have to bring you this unfortunate news: Microsoft has removed this beloved feature in Office 2007. Actually, if you had been paying attention (probably no one did = =), in Office 2003, although the Assistant feature was still available, it was not installed by default. You had to insert the CD again during the first launch to bring out this function.

If you're a fan of the paperclip (or Einstein), or the type who must consult the Assistants for help, then you might want to hold off on upgrading for now -- or wait and see if someone writes a plug-in to reinstall the Assistant in Office 2007.
