PotPlayer is a network player by Daum with its own independent copyright, not originally created by Mr. Jiang Longxi, and currently being independently developed by the original author of KMPlayer. The current version of KMPlayer (after version 1428) is collectively developed by the Pandora.TV team because it shares the same developer as PotPlayer, which naturally incorporates the essence of KMPlayer.
The current KMPlayer is in a stagnant state due to a lack of development resources. Without support from the original author, it is almost impossible to expect any substantial updates in the future. As PotPlayer continues to improve, replacing KMPlayer may be inevitable. Strength can prove everything.
PotPlayer is free to use. When using online on-demand services, there will be a 20-second advertisement.

Built-in hardware-accelerated decoding for MPEG1/2(IDCT/MoComp), WMV2(MoComp), WMV3(IDCT/MoComp), VC-1(IDCT/MoComp/VLD), H.264/AVC1(VLD).
Built-in E_AC3 audio decoding.
For playing H264, VC1 TS, etc., just enable the built-in hardware decoding in the settings, no other decoders are needed.
To disable automatic update checks: Right-click on the main screen -> Options -> General under the first tab -> Uncheck "Automatically check for updates at startup."
To enable hardware decoding mode:
Right-click on the main screen -> Options -> Playback under the second tab -> Scroll down to Filter Decoder Management -> A new window will pop up, go to Video Playback under the third tab -> Scroll down to Built-in DXVA Decoder Settings -> A new window will pop up, set the usage condition to "Always Use."
Note: Due to lack of multi-language support, direct internal Chinese localization is used. Please do not perform automatic updates, otherwise the software will revert entirely to Korean.
