Boiled vegetables + buckwheat noodles = her delicacy

When she first entered the entertainment industry, Jolin Tsai had a bit of baby fat, making her appear heavier on camera. This troubled her greatly because she has always been a perfectionist and could not tolerate any imperfections in her image. So she sought advice on how to lose weight and slim down her face. She said that she had tried drinking weight-loss tea and starving herself. Although these methods helped her lose weight temporarily, they were unsustainable. Sometimes when she danced, she felt physically drained.

Later, under the recommendation of a nutritionist, she began to change her diet. Boiling became the main cooking method on her dining table. Water-boiled vegetables, water-boiled yams, and buckwheat noodles became her daily staple food, with absolutely no added oil. If it was too bland, she would add a little salt.

As for chocolate and ice cream, which are usually beloved by girls, she stays away from them entirely. "When I was in middle school, I used to love eating ice cream. After school, I would go eat it with my classmates, but I haven't had it for many years now. I've almost forgotten what it tastes like," she said.

"She really doesn't eat snacks. Sometimes when we eat potato chips or drink beverages, she refuses. She only drinks plain water and eats some fresh fruit. She's really determined," her assistant said. What seems like an "ascetic" lifestyle to us is just a habit for Jolin Tsai: "It's fine, I'm already very used to it."
