Successful experience sharing from Bill Gates

I. Persistence is a must on the road to success. "Success is the measure of life's value, it is the need for self-actualization of human beings." Success is a kind of realm in life. Therefore, success has become a goal that everyone pursues and yearns for; however, a determined goal cannot be achieved overnight or easily. Bill Gates also said, "Destiny is always full of unpredictable variables," reaching the goal of success is a process, during which one will encounter setbacks and failures, and have to pay a price. Therefore, whether one can advance despite difficulties, win and persevere, stick to the determined direction, and persist in the set goal is an important link. I once met two young people who didn't pass the college entrance examination after high school graduation and wanted to study abroad. Their academic performance at school was not very good, so they both went to attend the "IELTS" training course in order to study abroad. However, they both failed to meet the standard in the first phase, and fell short by 0.5 points in the second phase. At this point, they both thought about giving up. One said that we had already made our best effort but still couldn't pass, and there was no hope if we continued studying. Now we could find a place to work and earn one or two thousand yuan a month, enough to support ourselves. The other one still wanted to complete the study and strive to meet the standard, but he also felt that since he had listened to the lectures twice, he might not be able to focus if he listened again, and still perform poorly in the exam. After repeated discussions with their parents, the former gave up studying and worked domestically, while the latter, under the guidance of his parents, studied the third phase and passed the exam. He is now studying abroad in Australia. I am not saying that studying abroad is more successful than working domestically, but rather that to achieve a set goal, one must persist, persist, and persist again. Without the perseverance to stick to the end, it is easy to give up halfway.

II. Persistence can turn weaknesses into strength. Bill Gates said: "No matter what unfairness you encounter - whether it is a congenital defect or a postnatal setback, don't pity yourself, but grit your teeth and hold on, then move forward like a lion." Nowadays, teenagers growing up in favorable conditions are fragile in character, mainly manifested in the lack of endurance to bear setbacks and the inability to adapt to life with a positive attitude. They lack the determination to face difficulties and setbacks as described by Bill Gates, and instead maintain a positive attitude towards work, career, and life. Being able to treat life positively in any state can make cowards into heroes.
