Before 1993, the country’s newspapers and periodicals were still mainly morning and evening papers, and there were no color-printed newspapers. On October 1st, 1993, Yangcheng Evening News initiated a “color revolution” by being the first in China to introduce an American Goss Metro satellite full-color printing press production line, which realized daily color printing of newspapers. After 1995, metropolitan newspapers found their audience nationwide and experienced great development, with metropolitan newspapers emerging that had circulations of one million. At the same time, the amount of color printing of newspapers and periodicals rapidly increased, and the quality requirements became increasingly higher, which brought about a new high-growth round of technical transformation for color newspaper printing.
