The statutory holidays for National Day are October 1st (Wednesday), October 2nd (Thursday), and October 3rd (Friday). The public rest days of September 27th (Saturday) and September 28th (Sunday) have been adjusted to September 29th (Monday) and September 30th (Tuesday). Employees are required to work on September 27th (Saturday) and September 28th (Sunday). The regular weekend rest days remain on October 4th (Saturday) and October 5th (Sunday). Normal work resumes starting October 6th (Monday).
Relevant authorities recently reminded employers that if employees are required to work overtime during the National Day holiday period, they should be paid no less than 300% of their daily or hourly wage as overtime pay. During the public rest days, if an employer arranges for an employee to work overtime, they can offer compensatory time off instead of paying overtime wages. If compensatory time off is not provided, the employer must pay no less than 200% of the employee's daily or hourly wage as overtime pay.
