The plot of Season 4 of Prison Break sees Michael Scofield陷入 a hopeless predicament - his brother Lincoln Burrows has been convicted of murder and sentenced to death at Fox River State Penitentiary. Despite all evidence pointing to Lincoln as the murderer, Michael firmly believes in his brother's innocence. As Lincoln's execution date draws near and with no other options, Michael storms into a bank with a gun, gets himself arrested, and lands in the same prison as Lincoln. As a structural engineer who was involved in the prison's renovation, Michael knows the place inside out and has devised a comprehensive escape plan. His sole purpose of entering the prison is to rescue Lincoln, prove his innocence, and set him free. Lincoln's former girlfriend, Veronica Donovan, serves as the defense lawyer in the murder case and also believes that Lincoln has been framed. In her continued investigation, Veronica discovers that this is far from being just an ordinary murder case. The victim's death is tied to the interests of many powerful figures - the shadow of the Vice President gradually emerges from behind the scenes. As the investigation deepens, danger also approaches Veronica. Witnesses are mysteriously killed one after another, and Lincoln's family also suffers misfortune. The mysterious person hired to hunt down Veronica turns out to be a secret FBI agent.
