From May to June 2001, the first and only plum vase special exhibition "The Essence of the Jingjiang Princes" hosted by the Guilin Municipal Government and the China History Museum was held at the China History Museum, causing a great stir and attracting many senior experts and audiences from all walks of life, some traveling thousands of miles to Beijing to visit the exhibition. After visiting the exhibition, the famous Malaysian Chinese and Chairman of the Asian Collectors Association gave it high praise, marveling at the rarity of so many fine plum vases in Guilin and expressing willingness to invite them for exhibitions in Malaysia and Singapore. At the high-level expert academic seminar on May 17th, more than 20 senior experts from fields such as ancient ceramics, archaeology, literature, and art discussed and highly evaluated the Ming Dynasty plum vases unearthed in Guilin. Everyone unanimously believed that the large number, rich variety, diverse shapes, and intricate patterns of the Ming Dynasty plum vases in Guilin are rare both domestically and internationally. Having such a collection of fine Ming Dynasty plum vases provides valuable materials for studying the history of ceramic development, showcasing the charming charm of ancient Chinese ceramic culture, and revealing the profound and extensive connotations of the historical and cultural city of Guilin. Guilin not only has world-class landscapes but also world-class plum vases, establishing the primary status of Ming Dynasty plum vases nationwide, truly deserving the title of "National Treasure."
