Shanghai police-assault case was trial in the second intermediate people's court in Shanghai today

On July 1 this year, Yang Jia, a Beijing citizen, broke into the government building of Zhabei District in Shanghai and stabbed nine policemen and a security guard, causing the death of six policemen. Yang Jia was captured at the scene.

Nine days after the incident, on July 10, the Shanghai Public Security Bureau announced that the investigation of Yang Jia's case has come to an end and the case has been transferred to Shanghai Procuratorate No.2 for review and prosecution. On July 17, the procuratorate prosecuted Yang Jia, accusing Yang Jia of committing willful murder with clear criminal facts and solid evidence. Yang Jia should be held criminally responsible for willful murder.
