Beijing will try to put into operation in June the first phase of track 10, the Olympic Branch Line and the Airport Line to improve transport conditions in the northern and eastern parts of the city and increase options for citizen travel. In addition, more surface buses will be made available and operating hours appropriately extended.
During the Olympic Games the government will commission an additional 1800 buses to facilitate citizen travel. At the same time Olympic lanes will be designated on main roads. In addition, no special measures will be taken during the Olympic Games to restrict incoming population from entering Beijing.
