Is the imaginary animal "HAECHI (獬豸)" recently selected as a symbol of Seoul really "HAECHI"? Various doubts have recently been raised in academic circles regarding this issue. Professor Kim Yeon-jung from the Korean Language and Literature Department at Korea University plans to present a paper titled "An Examination of Korea's HAETAE" at an academic conference hosted by the International Forum for Korean Language and Literature in August, which will address these doubts.
