Braised spareribs

The main ingredient is beef short ribs, although pork ribs are occasionally used as well. The ribs are typically cut into square pieces about 5-6 cm in size, with meat and bone attached. These are then marinated with alcohol, soy sauce, onion, garlic, ginger, sugar, and other seasonings, before being cooked with added water.

After the ribs have been thoroughly stewed, chunks of carrot, shiitake mushrooms, and chestnuts are added to continue cooking. Dried jujubes and shredded egg are usually used as garnish for the dish.
