If this fantasy becomes reality, and includes you, all people suddenly disappear from the planet, what would happen? This fantasy has now become the basis for the new book *The World Without Us*. The author of the book is science writer Alan Welsman, who currently serves as an associate professor of journalism at the University of Arizona. In this hypothetical thought experiment, Welsman does not rigorously explain why humans vanish without a trace. He simply assumes the premise that mankind suddenly disappears, then depicts the most likely events to occur over the years, decades, even centuries, on Earth.
