On the noon of June 24, several people beat up a male student under the dormitory building of Beijing Normal University. It was said that two female students in the same dormitory had a conflict. One was from Tongxian County of Beijing and the other was from out-of-town. The female student from Tongxian called her family, including two men and two women. They rushed to the dormitory and beat up the female student from out-of-town. Then, when they were about to run away after the beating, the boyfriend of the beaten female student intercepted them downstairs and they started to beat up the male student. After this post was sent out, it triggered a heated discussion among netizens. Many netizens focused their discussion on the overall quality of doctoral students, claiming that this was a sign of the decline in the overall quality of doctoral students.
