Giant virus "Pandora" under the microscope

The diameter of Pandoravirus is 1 micrometer, which is 10 times the diameter of an ordinary virus, and only 6% of its genes are similar to those of other organisms on Earth. French scientists believe that this mysterious virus may have originated from ancient times, or even from another planet, such as Mars. These huge viruses exist only in underwater environments and are not considered to pose a serious threat to humans. This study was published in the journal *Science*, suggesting that this virus raises questions about the origin of life on Earth.
