Chen Hao: From a Seductive Beauty to Diaochan

There have been at least eight screen versions of Diaochan. Look at the list of actresses who have played the part, it is quite a luxurious cast: Jing Ning, Yingzi Pan, Zhi Li... All of them are beauties, and the most recognized by audiences is probably Hong Chen's version, whose beauty is coupled with innocence.

Now, there is another name added to this list, also surname Chen: Hao Chen.

Five years ago, Hao Chen appeared in "Single Ladies", her half side big waves and tight-fitting long dress outlined her graceful and charming figure, since then she has been called "Mistress of Ten Thousand".

Five years later, she took on the role of Diaochan in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms". During this time, she starred in many plays, such as "President Li Wei", "Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils", "Beauty Also Worries About Marriage", and tried out various different characters. But she was never able to break free from that fixed image, which may not be a bad thing, this might be exactly why director Xiaoxi Gao chose her to play Diaochan.

Hao Chen's initial understanding of Diaochan was "oh, she is one of the four great beauties of ancient times". There's nothing she can do about it, she loves "Dream of Red Mansions", but she can't finish reading "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", she has good feelings towards classic characters like Zhuge Liang and Cao Cao, but lacks the interest for in-depth research.

Now she must create her own version of Diaochan, facing the challenge of Hong Chen's version, she emphasized that her Diaochan is full of wisdom, "her wisdom surpasses her beauty, she has the spirit of a heroine."
