Laozi's "Tao" advocates for tranquility and ultimate softness, and water best embodies this quality. Therefore, the sage who understands the "Tao" (in today's terms, leaders and managers) should learn from the wisdom of water. Water is essential for the growth of all things, the survival of the people, and social production. It nurtures and benefits all things without contention, and it always stays in places that people are unwilling to go. Therefore, it is close to the "Tao." In dealing with the world, one should be content with humility, keep the mind deeply calm and quiet, genuinely love friends, speak with honesty and reliability, govern with order and reason, utilize strengths when handling tasks, and act by seizing opportunities.
