Microsoft Threatens Indirect Yahoo Buyout Through Proxy Fight

April 6th news in Beijing time, Steve Ballmer, the CEO of Microsoft Corporation said on April 4th that if Microsoft and Yahoo cannot reach an agreement on Microsoft's proposed acquisition plan within 3 weeks, Microsoft will seek to indirectly acquire Yahoo through a proxy.

Ballmer said: "We believe that both parties should now... negotiate to reach a decisive agreement. If we cannot reach an agreement within 3 weeks, Microsoft will be forced to submit the acquisition plan directly to Yahoo shareholders, including initiating a proxy acquisition to elect a new board of directors for Yahoo."
