According to British media reports, it's the end of year again. On December 1st, Yahoo! announced the top ten hottest search keywords in 2010. The BP oil spill topped the list while the World Cup came in second place. And "how to tie a tie" became the most asked question by netizens.

For the worst oil spill and ecological disaster in American history becoming the hottest keyword, Vera Chen, senior editor of Yahoo! Search and public opinion analyst analyzed: "There is no doubt that this event not only caused disastrous consequences but also involved factors such as environmental protection, energy, construction site accidents and government functions, all of which are the topics that ordinary people care about the most."

This time the World Cup ranked second on the Yahoo! rankings. Chen explained: "People have not been limited to searching for players and teams. Because this was the first World Cup held on the African continent and the public wants to know what South Africa looks like after the abolition of apartheid, so it has become a cultural phenomenon."

Fourth: American fashion socialite Kim Kardashian

Fifth: American female singer Lady Gaga who dresses weirdly, performs boldly and triggers countless topics

Sixth: Apple's new smartphone iPhone
