Jindian Agriculture Earthworm Breeding Road to Wealth
The Jindian Agriculture Earthworm Breeding Road to Wealth is provided by the Jindian Agriculture Earthworm Breeding Base:
Hunan Jindian Agricultural Company uses the Daping No. 3 earthworm to turn青山Group's papermaking sludge into treasure, building the province's first earthworm decomposition sludge production biological organic fertilizer base. Now, this project has reached the stage of full-scale harvest. Yesterday, Jindian Agriculture called "Hunan Science and Technology News" and invited reporters to come and see the results of this multi-benefit project on-site.
Earthworm breeding benefits in multiple ways
Two years ago, a CCTV report about making money while treating pollution with earthworms caught the attention of Jindian Agriculture. With the support and mediation of the Yueyang Environmental Protection Bureau, in 2008, Jindian Agriculture cooperated with Yueyang Qingshan Group to use this biotechnology to treat papermaking sludge and built the province's first earthworm decomposition sludge production biological organic fertilizer base.
Every morning, these clumped sludges are transported to the earthworm breeding base and evenly spread thickly on each ridge. Workers sprinkle a kind of microorganism that earthworms love to eat, then cover it with a layer of dry rice straw for shading. The earthworms hiding underground will collectively burrow into the sludge, eating and digesting non-stop day and night. After 42 days, this pitch-black sludge becomes loose and soft, turning into organic fertilizer richer in nutrients than regular soil. It sells for as high as 200 yuan per ton, with a daily output of 20 tons of fertilizer.
Speaking of this project, Jindian Agriculture describes it as "treasure all over." Not only does treating sludge generate income, but the organic fertilizer can also be sold to landscaping, greening companies, flower and tree breeding companies, forming a virtuous cycle. In addition, the large reproduction of earthworms themselves are also a treasure for wealth, which can be resold to companies needing to handle domestic waste and sludge. Recently, a municipal engineering company from Hangzhou came to purchase at a price of 15,000 yuan per acre for seedlings. Some local fishing grounds have also come to order them for fishing purposes. Jindian Agriculture workers said that earthworm prices are quite high, generally selling for twenty yuan per kilogram, and at least two tons can be bred per acre. He happily told the reporter that just by selling earthworms, they have already made more than 60,000 yuan this year.
Jindian Agriculture noticed that chickens and ducks fed with earthworms as feed were particularly fat and nutritious. This year, he tried raising 30 ducks, and the results were good. They were finally snapped up at a price of 14 yuan per kilogram, much higher than the market price. Being resourceful, he also tried planting corn and other cash crops on the earthworm breeding land, which not only provides shade but also yields harvest. The corn harvested recently was large and sweet, and without any fertilizer, the yield doubled per acre. Handling 80 tons of sludge daily
This red earthworm's scientific name is Daping No. 3 earthworm, a hybrid variety of the Japanese "Daping No. 3 earthworm" that has been tamed. It has a short growth period, high reproduction rate, and a considerable appetite. A small earthworm weighing only 0.3 grams can consume more than twice its body weight in garbage daily, and its excrement can be converted into organic fertilizer, earning it the nickname of a miraculous "biological machine."
It is reported that during the sewage treatment process, papermaking enterprises produce a large amount of sludge, which contains some heavy metal components. Once dried, it easily forms a hard crust and is difficult to handle. For this "hot potato," paper mills usually used to adopt landfill disposal methods. During rainy days, the leakage of wastewater from the landfill could easily cause secondary environmental pollution. After introducing these earthworms, they work tirelessly 24 hours a day, consuming harmful substances in the sludge and decomposing them into large amounts of beneficial organic fertilizers, which can be widely used in urban greening, pesticide-free vegetable cultivation, melon and fruit tea production, as well as the production of organic fertilizer additives, thus turning waste into treasure. Moreover, this microbial harmless treatment method is cost-effective, costing only 17 yuan per ton of sludge, making it a perfect match for both parties.
After the project was introduced, Jindian Agriculture rented 170 mu of land next to the Qingshan Group and successively placed more than ten tons of red earthworms for mass reproduction, with a daily processing capacity of 80 tons.
Jindian Agriculture offers long-term wholesale of earthworm breeds, commercial earthworms, and free earthworm breeding techniques when purchasing earthworm breeds.
