BlackBerry mobile phones are expected to be officially launched in the Chinese market at the end of August or early September. The launch seems to indicate that RIM is slowly climbing into the cozy bed of China's wireless email market.

With the official entry of BlackBerry phones into China, "BlackBerry", "RedBerry", and "YouMei" will be the three main competitive forces in the domestic mobile email market currently and in the future.

Previously, there were reports that China Mobile had reached an agreement with RIM to introduce RIM's BlackBerry phones for sale in China between the end of August and early September. The initial phone model determined is the BlackBerry 8700g, with a price of about $700. It is reported that RIM has already received orders for about 5,000 phones from China Mobile. Sales of BlackBerry phones in China may primarily be through carrier customization and bundled sales.
