A 32-year-old police officer, Dymovsky (Дымовский Алексей Александрович), revealed widespread corruption within the Russian police force through a YouTube video. He stated that he had reported instances of corruption to his superiors, but they dismissed him, saying that it was something that could not be stopped.
Having served for 10 years, Dymovsky disclosed that senior police officers, in order to meet their monthly "quotas," instructed subordinates to fabricate cases, resulting in innocent people being imprisoned. Since police officers only earn a monthly salary of about £290, which is insufficient to cover living expenses, many are forced to accept bribes. In the end, Dymovsky chose to upload a video to YouTube, appealing to Putin to launch a nationwide investigation. Within a few days of being uploaded, the video garnered over a million views.
