Simatai Great Wall

World Cultural Heritage, national 4A tourist attractions, national key cultural relics protection units, located in Gubeikou Town, northeast of Miyun County, about 120 kilometers from the urban area of Beijing, accessible via National Highway 101 or Jingcheng Expressway. It is a historical relic tourist attraction with the Ming Great Wall as its main body. Simatai Great Wall was initially built in the early Hongwu years of Ming Dynasty (1368), and added during the period from Longqing to Wanli when Qi Jiguang served as the general of the Jizhen military region. It falls under the jurisdiction of the Gubeikou Military Road of the Ming Dynasty's "nine towns". In 1987, the Beijing Municipal Government carried out protective restoration work on the Simatai Great Wall, and officially opened it to tourists in 1990.
