The national 3A-level scenic spot is located in Shicheng Town, in the northwestern part of Miyun County. It's 90 kilometers away from the urban areas of Beijing. You can get there by going from the 101 National Road to Miyun and then transfer to Miguan Road, passing through the Miyun reservoir dam. It belongs to the gneiss granite canyon natural scenic area. Originally, it was a secluded canyon rarely visited by people. In 1967, a 13-meter high and over 20-meter long concrete dam was built at the canyon exit, forming a mountain reservoir with a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters. In 1997, the local farmers fully utilized the rich natural landscape resources within the canyon, developing it into a natural scenic area under the shareholding cooperative system, and opened it to visitors.
