The French National Space Research Center announced today that its space probe Corot, which is used to search for extrasolar planets, has sent back good news for the first time: a "hot Jupiter" has been found with an orbit near the Sun, approximately 1,500 light years away from Earth.
According to the press release from the research center, this planet, discovered by the Corot probe launched on December 27th of last year, has been named "Corot-Exo-1b"………
