Mr. Sun Hai,

Hello! On July 20, 2006, your letter was received and reviewed by Mr. Li. He said that he would not respond to such uneducated doubts because it would only give them the opportunity to learn about Master Yang’s Feng Shui principles. Later, Mr. Li asked me to reply, so I now offer my humble opinions as follows:

1. Regarding the relationship between the twelve earthly branches of the ground plate and the seventy-two dragons, I once read a "Feng Shui" book from the folk tradition. It discusses the generation and overcoming relationships based on the five elements of the twelve earthly branches and the seventy-two dragons. For example, the Zi palace belongs to water, and the Jia Zi Metal Dragon represents metal generating water, which is considered a shallow dragon or also called a resting dragon. The Bing Zi Water Dragon represents a shoulder-companion prosperous dragon, the Wu Zi Fire Dragon has water overcoming fire, making it a dying dragon, the Geng Zi Earth Dragon has earth overcoming water, making it an imprisoned dragon, and the Ren Zi Wood Dragon has water generating wood, making it a mutual-supporting dragon. This is a metaphysical theory that uses subjective consciousness to determine objective existence, which contradicts Master Yang's Feng Shui principles.

2. The statement, "Could it be that the central line of the tombstone you made for someone, and the central line of the coffin, and the central line of the compass are not aligned?" is difficult to understand, especially the term "central line of the compass," since the compass only has cross lines and no central line. What you probably mean is that "the center point of the tombstone and the center point of the compass’s Tian Chi should be aligned with the extension line connecting the two center points of the head and tail of the coffin." This is incorrect. What if there are two coffins buried in two jin wells and the tombstone is placed in the middle? How would this alignment work?

Best regards,
