On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Huangpu Military Academy, on April 9, the Ganzhou Evening Paper, in conjunction with the Ganzhou Huangpu Military Academy Alumni Association and China Mobile Ganzhou Branch, organized a special event titled "Huangpu Students, Dream Comes True at Alma Mater."

Seventy years ago, during the full-scale outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, there was an urgent need for a large number of military command talents on the frontlines. Under these circumstances, the Huangpu Military Academy established eight branch schools across the country. The Third Branch of the Huangpu Military Academy was founded in Ruijin at the end of 1937. It was later moved to Guangfeng for a period before returning to Ruijin and then relocated to Xijiang Town in Huichang County in 1942, where it remained until its closure in early 1946 after Ganzhou fell.

Li Dingxin from Ganzhou was a student in the sixteenth engineering class when the third branch was first established in Ruijin. After moving back to Xijiang Town, he served as an instructor for fortifications in the eighteenth and nineteenth classes. Elderly gentlemen Che Youyuan and Luo Ping were cadets under the jurisdiction of the fifth regiment of the third branch. On this day, after more than sixty years, the three elderly individuals returned to their old school grounds. At the age of 86, Mr. Li Dingxin is now the only surviving graduate of the third branch nationwide. More than sixty years after leaving his alma mater, he found that the former Huangpu Military Academy had been converted into the Xijiang Middle School of Huichang County. In front of the old site of his alma mater, Mr. Li vividly recounted his military academy days filled with youthful passion and dedication to the cause. He shared his personal experiences with those present, recounting the unforgettable history of that era.

Currently, only six elderly members of the Ganzhou Huangpu Military Academy Alumni Association are still alive. Due to frail health, the other three were unable to participate in this event.
