Researchers from Imperial College London and other institutions reported on the July 2nd online edition of American magazine Science that on an island in Scotland, UK, before the sheep had to increase their weight by eating more grass in the summer so they could get through the tough winters. Therefore, for a long time, larger sheep were more suited for survival. However, researchers have discovered that over the past 24 years, the average size of the sheep has decreased by 5%.
