Basic Techniques of Quilt Making:
I. Conception or Determination of Patterns: First, you need to determine what kind of quilted item you are going to make — is it a bed cover, cushion, tablecloth, or bag? You also need to know the size and shape of the fabric product you plan to create, as well as the patterns you intend to use. These points are the prerequisites for making quilted items. Therefore, it's recommended that before deciding on these aspects, you should look at more options and make comparisons before finalizing your decision.
II. Drawing the Overall Layout and Each Basic Geometric Shape After Decomposition: The diagrams should be drawn according to actual sizes and in proportion. Once the overall layout is completed, the size and shape of each basic geometric figure will be determined. After the layout is finished, start drawing the basic geometric shapes, usually using graph paper (proportional paper) to ensure accuracy in size. This prepares for the creation of templates. The unit used in quilting is centimeters (cm). See Figure 1:
