Dozens of 4,000-year-old painted mummies have been found in ancient tombs in Egypt

According to the Daily Mail, Egyptian archaeologists have discovered a complex of ancient tombs on the southeast side of the Illahun pyramid in the oasis of Fayoum. 53 tombs have been carved out of the rock, dating back 4,000 years, and many of them are well-preserved mummies. The Supreme Council of Antiquities funded the excavation.
