The electromagnetic flowmeter has a smooth straight pipe as its measurement channel, which is a section without flow-blocking detection components and is not easy to be blocked, so it is suitable for measuring liquid-solid two-phase fluids containing solid particles or fibers. At the same time, it does not cause pressure loss due to flow detection; the resistance of the instrument is only the along-the-way resistance of a pipe of the same length, with significant energy-saving effects. It is most suitable for large-diameter water supply pipelines that require low resistance loss. The volumetric flow rate measured by the electromagnetic flowmeter is actually not significantly affected by changes in fluid density, viscosity, temperature, pressure, and conductivity (as long as it is above a certain threshold). Compared with most other flow meters, it requires a lower length of straight pipe upstream. The electromagnetic flowmeter has a wide measurement range, usually 20:1~50:1, with a wide selectable flow range. The diameter range of the electromagnetic flowmeter is wider than that of other types of flowmeters, ranging from a few millimeters to 3 meters. It can measure forward and reverse flows, as well as pulsating flows, as long as the pulsation frequency is much lower than the excitation frequency. The output of the instrument is essentially linear. It is easy to select the material type of the parts in contact with the fluid, which can be applied to corrosive fluids, etc. A considerable part of the flowmeters selected in our plant are electromagnetic flowmeters.
