The US presidential election is over, and Obama is sure to be elected as the next President of the United States. Obama was born on August 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. His father was a student from Kenya, and his mother was a white woman from Kansas. Obama began to build his own campaign team at the beginning of 2007 and quickly became the leading candidate for the Democratic nomination. During the campaign, he focused on the theme of "change", emphasizing the need to end the Iraq war, achieve energy independence, stop tax cuts and extend health insurance coverage. Obama is the first African American president in American history.
